OK, Madeleine is already and adrenaline junky. I think that she is going to love roller coasters.
A while back, Joel's dad picked up a very old Jack-in-the-Box. This thing is scary--when the lid opens out pops a freaky clown head attached to a huge rusted metal spring. This clown head is scary. At one time it had hair glued to it, now it just has patches, and the face paint is chipping off. Basically, this is the toy that you have nightmares about. Madeleine is terrified of it, or at least I thought she was.
She got it out to play with today. I reminded her that if she turned the handle the clown would pop out. She started to turn it and stopped--"You do it" she said as she handed it to me.
I sloooooowly turned the handle and out popped the head. She jumped about a foot. Then exclaimed...
"I scared, I scared....Do it again!"
We repeated this about a dozen times. Each time I could feel her body tense as I turned the handle, and then she would jump as the head popped out and exclaim, "I scared, I scared....Do it again!" She was always ready for more. She is definitely going to be the girl out there popping wheelies with the boys.
