Sunday was Miriam's 4 month birthday. Today I took her in for her check up. She was great. She weighs 13 lbs and is 24 1/4 inches long. That puts her in the 50% for height and weight (that means that she is exactly average).
She is doing very good with all her developmental milestones too--the doctor actually said that she was hitting some early. Obviously she is rolling over great. She is also able to lay on her stomach and support herself on her arms (but she doesn't like being on her stomach so she doesn't do it too much). She grasps things and can put them to her mouth. And she "talks" all the time (at least according to Madeleine). What she actually does is making a gurgling sound and laughs. Then sometimes she gets mad and makes this fussing sound that isn't crying but is very upset sounding. So we have a very smart little baby.
While we were at the doctor's Madeleine started getting hungry. As we were walking to the car I asked her what she wanted to eat, and she yelled out "SUGAR!" Like I am going to give her sugar! What a goofy kid. She obviously doesn't have a sweet tooth ;-) But I guess she knew that I wasn't going to cave in to the sugar request so she immediately followed it up by asking for pizza and a hamburger.
For some reason she is obsessed with a few food items. She often plays this game where she pretends to be going to the grocery store. She will grab my keys, get on her little scooter, and announce that she is going to the store. So I ask her what she is going to get. She always says, "Sugar, coffee, hamburger, pizza!" Such a strange grouping of items. I have been trying to expand her tastes by asking her to get apples and pasta from the store. She usually agrees to bring some back.
