My little Einstein

OK, I know Madeleine isn't actually a genius and there are other kids who might be smart than her but she pretty darn smart. Here is a summary of what she knows right now. She can basically sing the ABC song (she slurs through a couple of parts though). If she sees the following letters she can identify them: A, D, M, and P. She can count from 1-10 with no help. She can identify the following colors: green, red, blue, purple, pink, brown, orange, yellow, black. Plus she can carry on a full conversation and her long term memory of events is getting really good.

I now understand why all parents are convinced that their children are gifted. Small children are little sponges--one day they can barely say mommy but seemingly the next day they can say 10 words. Just 6 months ago, Madeleine couldn't really do anything above. To learn all of this in 6 months, plus learn all the new words that she uses (there are way to many of those to list), is just mind boggling. It makes me jealous--I wish I could learn things this quickly!

PS--Come back Monday to see lots of pictures of the girls with their cousin Kylie!! My brother Steven and his wife Jessica are getting in today.
