Madeleine loves to play with boys. She follows them around at the park and imitates them (especially when they do strange things like pick up tree branches and roar). If there are girls and boys at the park, she will more than likely play with the boys, and it doesn't matter if they are 2 or 5, she wants to play with them.
What she hasn't learned yet is that little boys don't always want to play with little girls (especially when the little girl is 2 and can't even tell them her name). We have had several instances of little boys telling her to go away. And many little boys have tried to out run her (they weren't successful--she's pretty fast). When this happens I try to distract her and get her interested in playing with someone or something else but she isn't easily distracted. I realized today that she is just going to have to learn this lesson the hard way, or she is going to have to learn how to win the boys over. We'll see what happens.
