Dance Class

Madeleine had her first dance class yesterday--it is a ballet/tap class for 2 1/2 to 4 years old. Madeleine was so excited about this class. She talked constantly about for DAYS before it started. In fact the night before as checked on her in bed, she woke up enough to ask me if dance class was the next day. The best part of it is that Miriam is going to join the class next week! I talked to the teacher and she said that would be great and that they have actually had younger kids than Miriam join the class.

You may be asking why don't I have pictures. Well I had my camera out about to snap a picture of the class and Madeleine started crying. And she actually cried for most of the class. Despite/because of her excitement she got a little overwhelmed. The class was a little large (but they are breaking it into 2 classes). When all those little girls started tapping their feet and the load music came on, Madeleine lost it. To get her to calm down, I had to stand next to her the rest of the hour long class. All the while I tried chorale Miriam (who was trying to do the dance moves and join in the class). But I think that next week will go much better. Now I know to INSIST that Madeleine take a nap before class (she didn't yesterday). And now Miriam will be there to provide moral support. Plus I am going to bribe her with a post class treat if she won't cry in class :-) And next week I promise pictures, because they are so gosh darn cute in those little leotards!
