Friday I took both the girls to the doctor--Madeleine for a flu shot and Miriam for a flu shot and her 2 year check up. I know that it is now a month after her birthday but it's been a busy month and I just now got a chance.
She did great at the visit. She weighs 28 lbs and is 34 inches tall which puts her around the 60th percentile for height and weight. Miriam is basically the same height as Madeleine was at 2. Madeleine was just over 34 inches at her 2 year check up, but we were having a hard time getting Miriam to stand up straight--so I am pretty sure that she is just over 34 inches also.
One thing that really impressed the doctor was Miriam's ability to talk. The doctor first asked me a question and Miriam piped in with the answer. Then the doctor started asking Miriam questions and Miriam answered them all. Miriam then went on to correctly identify the color of a couple of items (which was purely a fluke--she knows the names of colors but she isn't very good at identifying them). The doctor's comment was that she never has conversations like this with kids until they are 3. The doctor pretty much confirmed what I already knew--Miriam is a very advanced talker.

Isn't it nice when the doctor already confirms what you know about how amazing your child is! Sounds like Miriam is very advanced. It must be because she has a great mom!
