The other night Madeleine was being particularly obstinate about going to sleep. She tried all the usual tricks--she needed another glass of water, she was hot, she was cold, she needed her doll, etc. She was yelling all of these needs out to us while we repeatedly told her that she was OK and just needed to close her eyes and be quiet. Then about 1 minute after she yelled out her last need, she yelled, "Mom, I had a nightmare!"
WHAT? I think that by definition, you have to actually be asleep to have a nightmare. What a silly girl.
