Iowa Trip: Fun in Pella

Going to Pella is always one of my favorite parts of the trip. It is a cute little town and they have a great bakery and meat market.

Here are a couple of pictures of our family in Pella.



They have a giant Dutch windmill. For those of you who have never heard of Pella, it was settled by Dutch settlers around 1850. "The Vermeer Mill (pictured below) is a fully functional 1850s-style windmill, reaching 134 feet (41 m) high. The Vermeer Mill grinds wheat into flour using only wind power and is the tallest working windmill in the United States." (info from wikipedia.com)

As always, the girls had fun running around like wild indians.

After stopping by the bakery, we went to the park to eat our goodies. After getting loaded with sugar, the girls were ready to challenge daddy to a race.
