Sick Baby

For the past two weeks, our house has been battling the WORST COLD EVER!!! It started out in Madeleine and Miriam. They ran fevers for several days. Madeleine started feeling pretty good after the fever went away. But then Miriam developed an ear infection. They are both better now. A week and a half ago Joel and I got it. It knocked both of us out with a fever for several day and Joel's was so bad that he had to go to the doctor after a couple of days. We are both still sick--I got a sinus infection (went to the doc yesterday) and Joel is still congested.

Through this all, the baby developed a runny nose but felt fine otherwise. I was hoping that she was the lucky one who wasn't going to get it. Boy was I wrong. Monday night she started getting real fussy. Tuesday I decided to take her on to the doctor even though she didn't have a fever. They said she just had a cold and her nose and throat looked fine. But then Wednesday she woke up with a fever. And she has had one since then. Poor baby has been so sick she has been sleeping everywhere. Yesterday she got tired of sleeping in her bed. I brought her downstairs and laid her on the kitchen floor so that she could watch me clean up. After a couple of minutes I looked down and the picture above is what I found.

What a sad sight! She spent the rest of the day like that. Any time I moved to a new room I would move her with me. She just laid around and dosed off and on all afternoon. Today, she isn't falling for that trick though. Today she won't let me put her down. As I type, she is curled up in her sling and asleep on my chest.

Update: about 2 hours after I wrote this, Amanda started feeling much better. She got up and ate a big lunch and started playing.
