Happy 1st Birthday Amanda!

One year ago today, little Amanda was born. We celebrated yesterday. To celebrate, the big girls and I made and decorated cupcakes (Joel jumped in and helped with the decorating). We kept her birthday really low key. In fact we didn't even get her a present. She already has so many clothes and toys from the older girls, and we knew she would be getting presents from the family, so we just decided to celebrate without presents. We'll make it up to her when she is older. Plus, this will give her something to hold over our heads when she is a teenager;)

She had a great time with the cake. We let her eat cake before dinner. So she really got to enjoy all the sweet goodness. Joel and Madeleine played Happy Birthday to her on their ukuleles (look at Joel's new ukulele--it was about time he got a real one instead of playing with Madeleine's). In the video below, watch how Amanda pushes Miriam away. Kind of funny :)

Here are all the pictures from the party.

I am actually sad about her birthday--this year flew by. She has been such a sweet baby. Now I get to watch her grow into an adorable toddler. Maybe this year won't go by so quickly (yeah, right!).

as a sidenote, Madeleine is playing a perfect C-chord in the picture. She has some natural talent.
