Madeleine was overjoyed today when her grandparents showed up (Joel's parents, Bill and Betty). At first she was a little shy. But she quickly warmed back up to them, and she proceeded to twirl around in circles and roll around on the floor. After that she had to regale them with all she knew by naming all her colors, identifying many objects in her books, and playing her harmonica (OK, so mom prompted her on some of these things, but she wanted to show off to them).
We are all very excited about Bill and Betty being here. I am excited because now we have an excuse to go out and do some touristy things that we haven't had time for yet. Madeleine is excited because now she has two more people to shower attention on her. And Miriam is excited because with 4 adults around she may just get to be held all day.
