Time

Madeleine is starting to understand the concept of time and delayed gratification. For several days, I have been telling her that Uncle Jim and Uncle Jay are coming to visit today and they are going to sleep in her room. Last night Joel asked her if she knew who was coming to visit. And she said yes and that Uncle Jay and Uncle Jim were going to sleep in her room. This may not seem like a big thing but to me it's HUGE. She is starting to understand about future and past events. That is a really hard concept! Heck sometimes I have trouble with it ;-)

Every day I am just amazed by how grown up she is getting. She is even starting to look like a little girl and not a toddler. She has lost all of her baby fat. Now she is just skinny--no more cute little tummy to help keep her pants up. It is sad how fast they grow up. But it is a good thing--I can't wait to teach her how to ride a bike, swim, read, color in the lines, write her name, ...
