10 Months and Toddling Around

I think that Miriam is going to walk before she is 1. She is already walking while holding onto things (like the couch or my finger). She needs to learn how to move her back leg though. She is really good at moving the front one but she leaves her back leg planted. Her favorite time of day is when Joel comes home. She loves his pants. Joel can't get five feet into the apartment before she has attached herself to his leg. She just loves having something to pull up on that also and walks around.

Miriam is very communicative. She is trying to talk--she says bye-bye and waves. She can also give us "five." And she definitely lets you know what she wants--she is a pretty good grunter.

She eats like a horse. Unfortunately, like a horse, she eats a lot of grass;-) She is at that stage where she eats EVERYTHING. If it looks remotely edible and it's within her reach, it is in her mouth before you can count to five. Part of the problem is the teething (she always wants to chew on something). Her constant chewing has resulted in something--she has 1 more tooth (in the top). The tooth just broke through on Friday. I imagine that the one next to it will break through any day now.

Miriam and Madeleine are great friends. Madeleine crawls in bed with her all the time. And, like I have said before, Miriam is completely entranced with Madeleine. But now Miriam can chase her down. Overall, they play together pretty good. Miriam has started copying how Madeleine plays. Miriam will hold the dolls and then try to set them in the doll highchair. She also tries to put the puzzles back together.

I just can't believe how big she is getting! She has really entered into a fun phase. And I love seeing how different she is from Madeleine. We went to an outdoor concert today and Miriam actually sat there and watched the musicians. I don't think that Madeleine has ever sat still for that long unless she was asleep or sick!
