Hummingbirds

This past Saturday we decided to take the girls on a nature walk. At Lookout Mountain, there is a nature preserve. Saturday they had a guided Hummingbird walk. I really enjoyed it. We saw about a half dozen hummingbirds. Plus we learned how to recognize their sounds. Madeleine had a great time too. She could have cared less about hummingbirds. But she really enjoyed the little magnifying glass that we used to look at plants (the guide had one for each of us). Plus she had fun getting to walk "off trail" to see plants and potential nest locations. And even Miriam had fun. The whole last five minutes of the hike, Miriam was telling everyone "bye-bye" and then she would crack up after saying it.

As a side note, Miriam is also saying Hi now. When we went to exercise today, the ladies who watch the kids said, "hello, Miriam." And Miriam said "hi" back.
