3 year check up

Madeleine had her 3 year check up the other day. She is 29.5 lbs and 37.25 inches--which makes her about average for her age.

She was so excited about going to the doctor. The day of her appointment, she told everyone that she was going to do that afternoon (she told the people at the gym, me--several hundred times, complete strangers at the store, etc.). She was even looking forward to her shot! What a crazy girl.

But when we got to there, she refused to talk to the doctor. She didn't say one word to him. But as soon as he left the room, she gave me detailed commentary about everything that transpired during the visit (he looked at her ears with a flashlight, she stuck out her tongue, he listened to her belly with a "sefiscope," she tooted, Miriam pulled the doctor's hair, etc., etc.). When I asked her why she wouldn't talk to the doctor she replied, "I only talk to mommy, not doctors." Ok, I guess that makes perfect sense to a toddler! Yet she told every stranger we ran into about her doctor's appointment. What a funny girl.
