The trouble with Miriam

The trouble with Miriam is that she thinks she is supposed to be able to do everything that her sister does and, oddly enough, one year-olds just don't have the coordination of three year-olds. Miriam thinks that she needs to climb, jump, and run just like Madeleine. The ladies at the gym all say that she is a dare devil but I know better--she just thinks that she can do everything that Madeleine does.

I am constantly finding the two of them standing on chairs in the kitchen trying to reach snacks. They also love to stand on the narrow window ledge. But, by far, their favorite stunt is to stand on my footstools and bounce.

I love watching the two of them--Miriam is always watching Madeleine to see what new trick she can learn. And, in her own young way, Madeleine is pretty good at watching out for Miriam.
