Miriam has entered a phase I love. She wants to do (just about) every thing I ask her to do. Hence, she has become my little helper. Do I have something small that needs to go in the trash? Just ask Miriam, she'll take it. Do I need to take something upstairs to the bedroom? Just ask Miriam, she'll take it. Granted, since she is only 19 months old, she isn't the best helper--sometimes things end up next to the trash can instead of in it. But I love it!
Miriam's willingness to provide unconditional help is such a difference from Madeleine. Madeleine now has a mind of her own. Madeleine still is a good helper but she has started saying "No" when my requests don't suit her (her saying "no" doesn't get her out of work but we have had some interesting negotiations). Why do they have to grow up?
