Turning 4

Madeleine turned 4 yesterday! She had a great birthday. I can't believe that she is that old. Turning four is a BIG deal. This means she gets to start preschool. She also thinks that turning four makes her a "big" girl. She is learning all sorts of new things. She can draw, cut, and paint. She can identify at least half of the alphabet. Getting older also means that she is turning into a help around the house. She can water the plants outside (but not the one's inside--I learned that the hard way). She partially dresses herself (as long as she isn't wearing something with those pesky things we call buttons).

But getting older also means that she wants to be more independent, which can sometimes be hard on me when she gets a little stubborn about things she wants to do. All in all though I think that this is going to be one of her best years. I think that she is really going to enjoy school and I can see that she is going to mature a lot this year. I am looking forward to enjoying another phase in her life.
