This is our third night in New Mexico and it is New Year's Eve. Not exactly how we wanted to ring in the new year. But all in all it wasn't so bad. After an afternoon spent playing and eating barbecue and homemade chili, we came back to our room early so that we would be well rested for our, hopefully, early departure.
Currently, the interstate is reopened and looking good--only patchy ice on the on and off ramps. The sun today really helped them clear off that road. But we are still waiting on the local roads that lead to I-25 to be cleared. Last I heard, around 7:30 pm, they only had a few miles left to plow before they reopened one of the roads. If all goes well, we should be home tomorrow afternoon.
