Kitchen Remodel

Above is our current kitchen before the remodel.

Well since we have nothing going on in our life right now, Joel and I decided to undertake a major project--remodeling our kitchen. We got started this weekend. I am VERY excited I literally have about 6 ft of counter space in our kitchen. I end up using the stovetop as an extension of my counter--I wouldn't recommend that if you are as careless as I am--I have many melted plastic pieces and lots of burnt items.

But no longer will that be a problem. We are going to add a large 5 foot island to the space currently occupied by the table. We are going to turn the room/area adjacent to the kitchen into a dining area. I think that the space was originally intended to be the family room--hence the fireplace, but we have always used what was intended as the dining room as a family room. Whatever!

And we are definitely going to paint!! So long purple walls! Later today or tomorrow I will post some samples and details of what we will be doing in the next month.
