Miriam

For those of you who haven't been around Miriam is a few months, as she is growing more of her personality is showing up. One development that Joel and I really enjoy is her caring nature--she is so motherly and caring. She wants to make sure everyone is OK.

Just yesterday, we were driving home after picking up Madeleine from school. As most mom's know, immediately after school can be a difficult time--Madeleine is tired and hungry and often VERY cranky. Yesterday was no exception. After having a huge meltdown, Madeleine was sitting in her car seat crying. Miriam reached over and started patting her arm and saying in a soft, soothing voice, "It's OK, we're almost home. You don't need to cry."

Miriam can be so sweet and she is very people oriented. Even in the midst of her own misbehavior. Often what stops her from misbehaving is not her being punished but the thought of me being angry. She will be having a grand time misbehaving but when I start to get angry she immediately stops, "It's OK mommy. Don't be angry, I won't do it anymore."

Ahhh, what a sweet girl. It is so funny to see the differences between the girls. Madeleine can be very caring but not in the same way as Miriam. I just can't wait to see what number 3 is like and how she will fit in with the other two.
