Iowa trip part 1

We actually got back from Iowa last Sunday. All last week I meant to post pictures from the trip but I just kept getting side tracked with all the stuff going on around here. But I am finally getting to them now.

We had a great trip. And since I am still hungry tonight, I wanted to show you some of the great food we enjoyed.

Unfortunately, due to all the rain in Iowa, the garden was running a little behind. All we got to enjoy from it were green beans and onions. But the girls enjoyed going out to help Bill harvest them.




We all took turns helping to plan out the meals. Jim's job was dessert. He made homemade ice cream and blackberry cobbler. Yummy, yummy!


One night, Jay and Cristy made schnitzel. It was some of the best schnitzel I have ever eaten. (By the way, Cristy, can you send me that recipe. Joel is demanding that I make it!) The whole week we ate like kings and I weigh extra 5 pounds to prove it!
