Future mountaineers

This past Sunday, Joel was sick so I took the girls out to the park so that he could have some peace and quiet.

While at the park the girls decided to practice their rock climbing skills (which is vital when you live in the Rocky Mountains) and to test their mom's nervous system. What you can't tell from the photos, is that the rocks are on a hill and the ground is about, oh, 6 ft. below them. Fortunately, my nerves are no worse than they were before, the girls are still fully intact, and I only had to rush over and kiss a couple of boo-boos.

The other item of interest in these photos is Madeleine's hair. You might not have noticed, but she got a haircut. In fact, she had about 3 inches cut off. That is kind of frightening considering that her hair is still pretty long. I don't think that we will wait so long for her next hair cut. Especially since the longer it gets, the more tangles her hair has. When it was really long you wouldn't have wanted to be at our house after bath time. But the new shorter cut has helped that problem tremendously.
