Finally, I have a hooked up fridge. We hooked it up yesterday at lunch. We debated keeping it--it barely fits in the space. But we really like it and decided that it was worth being a little cramped. I am really enjoying it. It is significantly bigger and the ice/water in the door is great.
This is my china hutch. There is a gap between the top and bottom to allow for the counter to slide in. The granite guy was here today taking all the final measurements. He should be back in a week or so to install the counter.
Here is an example of one of my old cabinets that has been "refaced." Some of you have been curious as to how the refacing process works. He simply has applied a veneer of cherry to the entire face of the cabinet. He also added trim to the top and bottom of the cabinet. Some people have crown molding installed on their cabinets but since our cabinets will be a Mission/Shaker style we went with a simple trim peice. Later this week he will stain all the cabinets and attach the doors and drawers.

Hopefully tonight we will get the dishwasher in place and hooked up. I am really excited about that--I hate hand washing dishes. I will post more about the remodel either Friday or Saturday.

Hey I just checked out your blog and the kitchen is looking GREAT! It looks like you are going to have a lot more space and a much more functioning kitchen. I am so excited to see it all done! I'm sure you are VERY excited to have your new kitchen.
