Taekwondo update

The week before last was a very busy week for Taekwondo. The girls have been taking twice weekly lessons all summer. So, Friday before last they were ready to test for their orange belts. They did terrific. I don't have any pictures of the actual test (I rushed to get out of the house and left it on the counter). But here they are at home afterwards showing off their new belts and their cool moves.

The next day, the school hosted a board break-a-thon to raise money for Muscular Dystrophy Association. The girls each broke a board. (Don't be too fooled by our kids strength. The boards are balsa wood.)

They each got to choose how they were going to break the board. Miriam broke hers by punching it, and Madeleine broke hers with a front kick.

Breaking boards with a Hello Kitty band-aid on her thumb?!? Wow! That's one tough little lady!

I LOVE the picture of the girls in their outfits with their orange belts! You have some tough cookies in your house. You will be well protected if anything happens especially if it is dealing with wood. :-)
